Sociology Undergraduate Symposium
The inaugural Sociology Undergraduate Symposium is take place on TODAY, May 20 in the HUB West Ballroom from 3:30PM to 6:30PM.
Sociology undergraduate students’ work will be on display in the form of a poster or presentation on their research and practica experience. Come to network with students, faculty, staff, and alumni; learn more about Sociology; get ideas for next year’s symposium; and support your fellow undergraduates! Hello, hello! We’ll be having our meeting on Monday, April 6 in HUB 110 at 5:30pm. We’ll be getting ready for tabling, our Relationship Games Night, Soc Cinema, and the Sociology Undergraduate Symposium. This is a great way for you to get involved in the Sociology Department and make friends. We are also looking for people to fill our leadership positions for next year! We hope to see you at our meeting.
The first meeting of Spring Quarter will be on Monday, March 30 in HUB 110 at 5pm! We will be planning our events for the quarter and decide on what events that we should have this quarter. We are also looking for officers next year, so if you’re interested, start coming to meetings. :) Hope to see you there!
This Thursday, February 5th, we’ll be having our general meeting for all members in HUB 304D at 5:30pm. We’ll be talking about our facebook group and events, such as the Soc Cinema with the Northwest Film Forum and Sociology Undergraduate Symposium. We hope to see you there!
The application for the Sociology Undergraduate Symposium has now been launched! Go to the application page for more details. The deadline is Saturday, February 28th at 11:59 PM.
This Thursday, January 22 at 5:30pm in HUB 304D, SSA will be having a general meeting to sign the proposal for the undergraduate student lounge in Savery Hall (in the quad… Next year, we’ll be moving back to there), get the details on the soc cinema at NWFF, and discuss the Sociology Major Skills workshop.
This is a great opportunity to get involved and help us better the education of the undergraduates in the Sociology Department. Many of the officers will be graduating at the end of this year and so if you’re interested in leader opportunities, especially for next year, join us.

Mayor Greg Nickels is looking for people aged 18-29 interested in making a difference through public service. As part of the YMCA’s Get Engaged program, the Mayor will appoint people in this age group to 13 of the city’s boards and commissions, with service beginning in the fall. Applications are due April 28, 2008.
There are over 20 groups to choose from.
